Next In-Person Meeting 2/16/2025 11:00AM

Meeting Notes:

  • Neighbors have agreed it is best to keep signs up until the property is sold. Although the property is up for sale, the final intent is still unknown.
  • Neighbors are working with the county to have R5 approved activities revised to address future developments of this kind and others.
  • County representative will let us know if an application is submitted for this project, none has been received so far.
  • If application is submitted, traffic, wetland, etc studies will need to be completed/started. Studies done in the past have no value to the current project.
  • If this project is stalled, as it appears, we need to remain good neighbors and be vigilant of any squatters that try to take roots on Deans property. We can notify Dean and/or County Code Enforcement to have them removed.
  • If you haven’t signed the petition, please still do so. We have no proof this fight is actually over yet, so we need to stay at the ready should an application get filed.
  • Next meeting date is still TBD and will be posted here if/when it gets scheduled.

The next in person meeting will be Feb 11th at 11am at the Stanwood Library.  We encourage all to join to further the discussion.

Topics to Discuss this week:

  • Who Enforces adherence to Codes? Is this county, city or only enforced when a complaint occurs?
  • Additional Traffic from a facility like this needs additional safety features like sidewalks, etc on 3rd Ave. How to request an updated traffic study for 3rd Ave and surrounding areas?
  • Has there been an environmental study done re: wetlands, runoff, etc. ?
